Lic. Esp. Esmeralda Flores

For four years he worked as part of the legal team for the Binational Advocacy and Defense Program, at the Casa del Migrante in Tijuana, Mexico. His work was focused on the documentation of human and civil rights violations, and cases of family separation caused by deportations. In 2013, he had the opportunity to present an amicus curiae before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.

Esmeralda is born in Tijuana and has a multifaceted understanding of the situation of the Mexico-United States border, as a result of her professional and personal experience as well as a comprehensive vision of the needs and injustices that affect migrants individually and in different situations. public politics.

Esmeralda is a graduate of the Law School of the Autonomous University of Baja California. In 2014 he completed a Specialty in International Migration taught by the Colegio de la Frontera Norte (COLEF) in Tijuana, Mexico.

He currently works at ACLU San Diego in the area of migrant rights and binational affairs.
