Where does the diploma come from?

In 2014 and early 2015, a series of in-depth interviews and consultations with migration experts were conducted, the objective of which was to identify the problems and challenges faced by government and civil institutions that directly and indirectly serve migrants. refugees and displaced persons, emphasizing the training needs of the personnel who interact with them from the perspective of specialists in the field. These consultation exercises were also applied to migrants (origin, transit, destination and return), about their various realities, as well as the psychological care they received and that they would like to receive in their different contexts. Thus was forged the first curricular program of the Diploma.

Among the participants, we can mention: Dr. Humberto Mayans (Coordinator of Comprehensive Attention to Migration of the Southern Border), Dr. Leticia Calderón Chelius (professor and researcher at the José María Luis Mora Research Institute), Ms. Carolina Carreño Nigenda ( Deputy Coordinator of the Area of Psychosocial Accompaniment of Sin Fronteras), Dr. Rodolfo García Zamora (professor and researcher at the University of Zacatecas), Ms. Nadia Nehls Martínez (Coordinator of Incidence. SMR, Scalabrinianas: Misión para Migrantes y Refugiados), and the Dr. Gabriela Martínez Iturribarría (Divisional Director of Health Sciences of the UIC),
